Alternative assets investor Alpha Alternatives Group has raised Rs 2,100 crore in the first close of its maiden structured credit fund, which will invest in an array of high-yield opportunities, including special situations, collateralised growth funding, and operating equity. Company executives said the capital commitment came primarily from anchor investors comprising India's largest family offices and ultra-high net worth individuals (UHNIs), with average commitment of about Rs 50 crore.

Alpha had raised its first round of capital in August 2020. In the current round, existing investors and several new marquee family offices have invested about INR 130 cr (about $16 MM) at a valuation of almost $200 MM.
